A 1911 apartment had beautiful proportions hidden behind three layers of partitions. The design removed them and let the flat breathe again: a living space across two window axes, a kitchen as a furniture block, the bedroom behind a sliding wall.
All the built-in furniture is one material — stained oak — and one joiner made it from our drawings. Supervising the making was part of the commission; that is why the joints line up and the skirting holds a single line.
